At Grace we see the Body of Christ coming together to do God’s will for His Church. The believers are the Body of Christ, His Church. As believers who love Jesus, we want to serve Him in ministries of His Church for the purpose of building up the Kingdom of God on earth like it is in heaven. Our guiding principle is found in Ephesians 4, and specifically verses 12-13: “For the equipping of the saints (believers) for the work of service (ministry), to the building up of the Body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.”
As a church we engage people who have a heart to serve Jesus with their minds, hands, talents and skills, their particular gifts for ministry, or just ‘what they’re really good at’ to be representatives for Christ in His Church and do the tasks that inspired churches need to do to honor their Lord and Savior. If you have the love for Jesus, you’ll be serving Him, and we need you! There are many opportunities to serve and only a few are listed in the tabs above. Our small group ministry helps people find their gifts and use them for God’s glory. We always will consider God’s purpose for sending you to this church and use your gifts in a way that will bring Him glory. This often is through a period of mutual discernment in how best to use those gifts. But the gift is for the good of His Church and we’ll be glad to get you started. Periodically, we have a ‘spiritual gifts’ inventory class to help folks know where their strengths are for ministry. Please ask about this and our rector or other clergy.
Our prayer is that the Lord Jesus will send us people who have the heart to use their gifts for His Church in ministries that build up the Body of Christ and His Kingdom on earth. Please consider being the answer to our prayers and God’s call. Thank you.
